Comments about K2 Snow Cinch CTX:

I have two sets of the cinch bindings, one on a board I instruct with and the other on my a frame. From day one, which has been over a year ago I have loved and hated these. Ease of entry and getting out has been flat awesome. They are comfortable and have a great feel. The bad, I am using plastic zip ties as security to hold the cable in place so that it doesn't pop out when lowering the high back. The little molded nub that to keep it retained in its slot, ineffective, when you drop the high back it pops past it. I have taken them into our local k2 dealer and couldn't do anything for me, thought the zip tie was best solution. And yes I had written k2 shortly after the purchase and was told to take to local service dealer. So with that said, wish in one hand and zip tie in the other.

cable problems

Pros

  • Easy Entry & Release

Cons

  • Cable Slips Out
  • Poor Construction

Best Uses

  • All Mountain

Comments about K2 Snow Cinch CTX:

The cables slip always out of the location hooks. This is really anoying and negates all the benefits of the quick rear entry. Design has not been propperly tested and put for a premium price too early on the market.

Comments about K2 Snow Cinch CTX:

There is a lot to like about this binding. It is convenient and fast. Out of my group of boarders, I am always the first one ready to go. I also really like how the ankle strap lifts up when you lower the back giving more room for entry. The straps are comfortable. The binding is pretty stiff, which I prefer The weight is not bad either.
The ratchets do need some work though. They tighten well enough. To loosen, the ratchets are sticky and need effort. I was told that this was intentional as the ratchets should be set and left alone. I think this should go back to the drawing board. I also found that the toe strap is often cinched down by accidental contact when my foot was not in. I keep having to loosen it which takes effort because of the aforementioned reason. A locking ratchet like on the Gnu Mutant would work well. This "sticky" design seems significantly inferior to the Gnu design.
    Otherwise, works well overall.
