Comments about Ultrasplit Splitboard Kit Wide:

i got the full on ulltra/kwicker set up, and it rocks.

lets get the "maybe" bad stuff over first... the boots. Heaviest boots I've ever held. Plus when walking feel like a cross between ski boots and snowboard boots. Not uncomfortable but not walking in snowboard boots. But, on a good note, I drove home, 5mi, and went to the gas station in these boots. On the other hand, sledding in these boots might suck. haven't done it yet but not looking forward to it. Plus would hate to mess them up, especially with the new super aggressive running boards on anything worth riding.

low weight is made at the point were binding is minimal compared to all other splits, so the heavy boots really don't matter. Plus i'd rather have weight on my feet then back, IE snowshoes when descending, or board when ascending. When it comes down to it this is super lightweight and nothing extra but everything you need

Precut skins and heel risers killed. it. cranked up some steep stuff with relative ease. Skins leave the edge exposed which is nice when you have descent. it's fun to run it out.

Everything worked fine in my living room so i was curious how it would work on a deep day...20" putting it all together. FLAWLESS... it all went together well and i never took off my gloves off.

Clicking in took me a few seconds because i have NEVER EVER rode a click in system, plus I've always looked down on them. The first was trickier because the board was still free but the second went smooth. I feel every click from here on out will go smooth too.

I felt solid in the bindings regardless of no highbacks or angle straps... These features are apparently built into the boot. The boot was comfy. The double BOA is sweet for keep it slightly loose, not too much, for ascent and locked down for descent.

stoked i geeked out and bought the full on set up. i think you're blowing it if you don't. i'd give it 5 stars but i think k2 nailed this so good that they probably got some great ideas for the next.
