Comments about K2 Snow Ally:
If I would have known that helmets could be this comfortable, I would have started wearing one years ago. I've been riding for almost 16 years and never worn a helmet (I know, I know, shame on me!). I resisted because I felt like wearing one would impede my mobility or feel heavy on my head/neck. I'll be the first to admit just how wrong I was. PLEASE, wear a helmet! Everyone should wear one (no matter what level you consider yourself to be), and I do recommend this one for the price, the comfort and most of all the protection.
This helmet is ridiculously light weight. I put it on at the beginning of my day and then forgot about it until I crashed. I wrecked cruising along a catwalk. Just caught an edge and wham! I didn't even feel the impact on my head and I was immediately grateful to have that thing protecting my melon. Yikes! The helmet does it's job in terms of protection, I can attest to that.
To adjust the size, it has a small dial on the back to tighten it up or loosen it. I love being able to adjust that throughout the day, or if it's a colder day and I choose to wear a light beanie underneath, this helmet allows me that kind of flexibility.
Perfect fit with my goggles. No gaps.
The Ally is warm enough and has just the right amount of natural venting. I don't really ever feel like I'm overheating.
To have the headphones built in was a huge benefit too. They work very well and the cord is discrete. I loved being able to make phone calls w/o having to remove my helmet too! So cool!
