Rocker started here. Made for powder float and quick turns in the trees. The 2011-2012 K2 Gyrator Snowboard continues the tradition with added features like Carbon Web II for even more pop and lively feel in the deep stuff.
Powder Rocker delivers the most Rocker for the most snow – enabling you to float through anything while still maintaining a high-level of performance on groomed terrain. A stiffer nose and tail ensure stability in an otherwise maneuverable and lively package.
K2’s proprietary vibration dampening system is built into all three of our hardgoods categories. HARSHMELLOW™ is a magical compound that maximizes FUN by decreasing negative vibes, leg burn and rough landings. Positioned in the insert area in our top end boards to stop vibrations before they enter your bindings.
Always improving the feel and energy return of our boards, the R+D group releases the CARBON WEB rider input/output system. Offered in two levels of sensitivity. Resulting in a more connected feedback loop from terrain to rider.

Best board for powder. Mabye no rails, and back 1's are tough with the small tail, but who cares if you can float around in powder faster than anyone on the hill. Super fun, light deck. Buy it!

I bought my Gyrator during the 08/09 Vail Season for backcountry powder riding. This thing definitely did the trick. I'm 5'6" 190lbs and got the 162cm board. In the nar this thing floats effortlessly and speed is easy to keep up. No worries on groomers either. I would expect that you wouldn't spend [$] on a board unless you were an able rider. I never had a problem on groomers. Ice is a little more difficult to control, but even when I rode this on Beech Mtn. North Carolina it did great. Just make sure you have the physical power to turn, as a longer board requires this.I'm lucky that I own this board for the 10/11 La Nina happening in Jackson Hole right now. I have an advantage right out the gate. A perfect powder board that will get you home no matter what.

rode a 162 all 09/10 season all over the NW (Baker, Steven's, Alpental, Crystal, Hood) and for two weeks neck deep in Haines, AK.
no complaints other than fast lines that run out into chop get kinda hectic as its not stiff enough for the chatter. other than that this thing is really light and surfs powder with awesome float and handles tight trees just fine.
if you get lots of powder, this is a great board.
if you ride grooms or icy trash, don't bother with it.

I rode the Gyrator this hole saison all over Norway! It's simply awesome to ride it on fresh powder even on the pists sometimes! In my opinion it's useless in the Park, but that's not it's job i guess! I would recomment it to everybody who is riding a lot of powder and off-pist!
Thank you K2-designers you made my saison 09/10!!!

Great for powder. I demoed this board at Utah. It wasn't good at all parks. Really good at snowbird cause they have done of powder now. I was able to turn, and cut without a problem.
Not good for ice, or groomed conditions. I like the board, but I'm from the east coast. Not much powder there.
