Mason Aguirre’s board of choice, the 2012 K2 Parkstar is equipped with the new TweakendTM baseline upgrade for improved pressing and landing stability. Made for the rider who wants to rip laps through the park & pipe or take a freestyle mindset anywhere on the mountain.
A revolutionary tweek to the ends of our industry leading Baseline technology. By extending the Baseline rocker all the way out to the absolute ends of the board, new ride-able surface is unlocked, giving you a bigger, more stable platform to press, float and land on.
Always improving the feel and energy return of our boards, the R+D group releases the CARBON WEB rider input/output system. Offered in two levels of sensitivity. Resulting in a more connected feedback loop from terrain to rider.
Hybritaper takes our Hybritech Construction, and tapers out the core at the tip and tail to reduce the swing weight. We blend the tips from a cap into a thin sandwich removing material where you don’t need it.

I got this board just because of an add in Transworld Snowboarding Magazine and I was just amazed, with this board anything is possible. The stability is amazing and it's so light it's crazy, the pop is insane for booters. I ride the 154 wide and I'm 5'10" it rides like a longer board, I can hit any jump on this board. I never thought a change of snowboard brand could make such a difference, but it has and I wanna thank K2 for putting together such an amazing board!

I use this board for everything on the mountain. I've owned 4 boards over the course of 10 years. This board is by far the best one i've owned, it's made for the park but it slays the whole mountain just as good. I've been riding mountain for 9 years so my board has to ride mountain, but i got into park last year so i needed a good park board too. THIS BOARD IS THE PERFECT BALANCE BETWEEN ROCKER AND CAMBER, I HAVE YET TO FIND ANYTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. I've ridden a lot of new boards out there and when it comes to having a board that does everything, the Parkstar is the way to go. The jib rocker allows you to spin on jibs and jumps without always catching an edge, but it's still responsive on the mountain when you're bombing hills and power turning. It locks an edge well and it's the perfect flex. Also, the twin tip aspect of the board allows you to ride switch just as good as your regular stance and it's perfectly balanced. The board does well everywhere, it holds up well to dings, is very fast, playful yet responsive, nonexpensive, looks cool, and does everything well and with style. What can I say, Why don't you own one already!? The only thing that was weird at first is the Jib Rocker, i've been riding camber for 9 years and the jibrocker took a while to get used to, i wasn't sure i liked it at first but after you get used to it it's definitely just as good if not better. Playful buttery feel with the ability to bomb hills and hit powder like a mountain board, i don't know how K2 did it! I would recommend it to anyone that needs a good board that can do anything they put in front of it.

I used the Parkstar Wide 154 for the jumps in Sierra-At-Tahoe's Bashful and Alley terrain parks. It has the perfect flex to press out on rails and boxes, but its stable enough to stomp spins off 60ft kickers. It was a little short for me to do well in powder, but thats what i get for being 6'3 and getting a 154. I'm stoked to get this years board in a 157 so powder will be easier. One thing ive noticed with K2 base die cuts is they like to de-laminate. I had the Darkstar 2 years ago, the base de-lamd...and i had the Parkstar this year, the base de-lamd. Im hoping K2 fixed the problem this year or ill be sending it back in for another new board. Other than that this board is a dime.

I got this board yesterday and tested it last night. It was awesome. I know that I'll be riding this one for a while. I use to ride an Omatic(which was a good board for the money) but know that one's retired and the K2 is going to be under me from know on. The jib rocker is sick. I've been wanting a board with rocker since it really came out. Now I have one and I'm stoked. The board carves great at any speed. Even at my top speed which has been clocked at about 45 mph.$

I just rode this board today. Insanely good. It's like night and day from my previous board. The rocker feels amazing and the stiffness is just right. It's super fun and playful in the park. I got the 157 Wide and I ride a size 11 boot and I'm 6'3''. I expected the wider base to throw me off, but it actually feels sooo much better to have that extra width under your feet. you just feel more stable. the board on rails and jumps has met my expectations. two thumbs up.
I wish I was sponsored by you K2.

I am a FT snowboard instructor at my local mountain. I have been instructing for the past 5 seasons. I have big feet so my choices of boards tends to be a bit limited. I have been riding an K2 AfterBlack (wide darkstar) for the past 2 seasons. It was an awesome board but with 5+ days/week of riding it, it was time to hang it up. I liked a lot about that board but I was wanting something a little bit more playful. I talked to my board shop about rocker. I was told it would be awesome in most all conditions; take away back leg burn on powder days, rips on carved turns, kill it in the bumps and be awesome in the park.
Seems like some pretty big promises but I fell for it, and I am glad I did. Rocker = fun. Its soft in the nose and tail but still super stable at high speeds. The side cut looks extremely aggressive and I am sure it has to be because of the lack of traditional camber in the board. The carved turns on this board are extremely fun and very stable. The board doesn't feel noodly under my feet at any point. Pop is awesome!
This board reminds me of the fun I used to have on a skateboard. I ride the mountain in a whole new manner now.
Its also a k2 so you know its bullet proof. When my pack rides, we ride with the idea that boards are meant to be destroyed, not look glossy and pretty. Our goals include running over rocks, tapping off trees, jumping through (not over) brush/bush. The k2 boards come out with a few scratches, never anything deep on the base. The other boards always look bad. As an instructor I am constantly being run in to by new riders/skiers, holding people up with my board, or using my base as a first jib/jump/slide among other things and the k2s are the only boards I have had that will hold up to all that.

I ride this board everywhere for everything!
It was the most surprising deck I rode during the Demo....in which I was thinking I would be most stoked on the Slayblade(which I was not)
The Jib Rocker is totally awesome!!!
I thought I was going to find riding it a little weird but I didn't even notice - my fun factor just kept rising!
On this board - the entire mountain becomes your playground!!!!!
I thought this deck might feel unstable at high speeds or going through trees but I didn't even notice at all!
This board put the Fun back into riding for me!
HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Big footed guys will not even realize they are on a wide deck!!!!

I have worked in a snowboard shop for 6 years...I ve been there done that. Ride, Rome, Burton, Capita, Forum you name it. I bought an afterblack 3 years ago, and it was about $500 bucks and outrode any other high end board. So...now i bought a parkstar. Exact same thing...Have your cake and shread it too. You get all kinds of crazy tech, sweet looking graphics, amazing ride and you can do it for less than anybody else. Just because it is the most expensive doesnt mean it rides the best...MAKE ME K2 rep for Saskatchewan!!
